George Zervas holds a degree in Civil Engineering from NTUA (1986) and a postgraduate degree, MSc (Eng), from the University of Birmingham in “Water Resources Technology” (1988). In 1988 he worked as a researcher at the Water Research Center (WRc) on sludge treatment.
In 1990, he was elected Scientific Associate of the Department of Environmental and Public Health Engineering of the National School of Public Health (NSPH) and since then he has been participating in all educational and research activities of the Department (Postgraduate Programs in Public Health and Occupational & Environmental Health, Candidate Student Evaluation Committees).
He has supervised more than 30 Postgraduate Students’ Dissertations on environmental issues and on health care waste management. During the same time, he has been exercising the duties of Technical Consultant at the Infrastructure Office and at the Information Technology Office of NSPH.
With the accession of NSPH to the University of West Attica, he joined the position of Laboratory Teaching Staff (A’ Level) in the Department of Public Health Policy.
In addition, he has participated in the design of more than 50 environmental protection projects, such as Land Improvement Works, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Drinking Water Production Facilities, Waste Landfills, Environmental Impact Studies and Water Resources Management Studies.
